How reliable are the results?

Very reliable. The Myself at Work questionnaire originated in an open-source research project and has been extensively studied to ensure its reliability and validity. We also use recently collected representative samples from the general adult population to interpret your results relative to these samples.

What theory is Myself at Work based on?

Myself at Work is based on the well-established and widely accepted Big Five theory of personality. This theory is the result of decades of research and ensures that we can capture a comprehensive, scientifically grounded picture of your personality.

The Big Five theory identifies five core dimensions of personality: Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Sensitivity. These dimensions are well validated and have been shown to reliably predict behavior and professional success. Do you need a trainer, consultant, or coach to use Myself at Work?

No, that isn’t necessary. Myself at Work is designed to make it easy for users to interpret their results on their own. We place a high value on self-empowerment and want to ensure that users can use their profile without additional support.

However, a coach, consultant, or trainer can be very helpful in certain contexts. Just send us a message, and we’d be happy to recommend certified coaches, trainers, or consultants.

What do I need to set up an account?

It’s very easy. During checkout, you’ll have the option to easily create an account. This allows you to conveniently manage all your licenses and order details in one place. An account also makes it easy to distribute licenses to employees.

Should I use Myself at Work for hiring or promotions?

We advise against it. Myself at Work was designed specifically for personal development. It measures a user’s personality, but not their professional competence or suitability—two areas that are often too readily conflated with personality.
